BUTTERFLY 'MORE SCHOOLS' PROJECT TOOLKIT
THE QUESTIONS!
- Why Table Tennis?
- I have no tables - how do I start a Table Tennis Club?
- How do I make the best use of space and equipment?
- Can we play in Primary as well as Secondary schools?
- Do we play as individuals or in teams - in knockout or group competitions?
- How many are there in a team - what are the rules?
- What can you tell me about the English Schools' Table Tennis Association?
THE ANSWERS!!
In 2008 the English Schools' Table Tennis Association launched the Butterfly 'More Schools' Project Toolkit consisting of a range of materials for starting and developing table tennis in both Primary and Secondary schools. It moves through 'Enjoyment, Participation to Performance'. ESTTA believes that the Toolkit will be a catalyst to promote the participation of schools in the playing of table tennis at intra and inter school levels, leading to greater involvement in their team and individual events.
Well over 1000 Project packs have been claimed by schools, Partnership Development Managers and Competition Managers. What have they said about them?
- "This is just what my staff have been asking for - fantastic".
- "Great pack - loads of useful resources for primaries and secondaries".
- "Very positive - I like the ideas for 'alternative' table tennis tables".
- "Excellent ideas on maximising space and equipment".
- "Very clear with great ideas for schools without table tennis tables".
- "Excellent resource pack - easy to use - very structured".
- "Good templates for competition, which together with the Butterfly Skills Programme, provides testing but achievable goals".
